The deftdeck Image Border & Frame Maker is a free in-browser tool that adds decorative borders and frames around photos and graphics. Bloggers, social-media creators, designers, and online sellers use it to give thumbnails, product shots, and profile pictures a finished look. Choose a Frame style of Solid border, Gradient border, Rounded corners, or Polaroid, then open Settings to set the border Thickness in pixels, the border Color (and a second color for gradients), or the corner Radius for rounded mode. The framed image is rendered live the moment you drop a file, shown side by side with the original, and exported as a PNG that preserves transparency for rounded corners.
How to use Image Border & Frame Maker
- Drag and drop an image onto the dropzone, or click it to choose a file (PNG, JPEG, WebP, or any image your browser can open) from your device.
- Pick a Frame style: Solid border, Gradient border, Rounded corners, or Polaroid.
- Open Settings to set the border Thickness in pixels (or the corner Radius for Rounded corners) and choose the border Color; for Gradient, pick a start and end color.
- Watch the framed result render automatically next to the original, and click either preview to open the zoom lightbox.
- Click Download to save the framed image as a PNG.

- What frame styles are available?
- Four: a Solid border, a Gradient border that blends two colors, Rounded corners that clip the image to a rounded rectangle, and a Polaroid frame with a wide bottom margin.
- What format is the output saved in?
- The framed image is always exported as a PNG. PNG is lossless and supports transparency, which is needed for the Rounded corners style where the area outside the curve is transparent.
- Can I control the border thickness and color?
- Yes. Open Settings to set the border Thickness in pixels and the border Color. Gradient mode adds a second color, and Rounded corners replaces thickness with a corner Radius.
- Is there a size limit?
- There is no fixed limit set by the tool. Because everything is composited locally on a canvas, very large images are bounded only by your browser's and device's available memory.
- Are my images uploaded to a server?
- No. Everything runs 100% client-side in your browser using the HTML canvas. Your image is never uploaded to deftdeck or any server, and nothing leaves your device.
