Social Media Image Resizer
Resize and crop one image into multiple social media sizes in your browser.
Social Media Image Resizer — Drop in a single image and instantly export it at the exact dimensions every platform expects — Instagram posts and stories, a YouTube thumbnail, an X post, a LinkedIn banner, a Facebook cover, or a generic Open Graph card. Each preset is cover-cropped on an HTML canvas to fill the target frame without distortion. Everything runs entirely in your browser, so your image is never uploaded to any server.
What is Social Media Image Resizer?
The deftdeck Social Media Image Resizer turns one source image into perfectly sized graphics for every channel at once. Social media managers, marketers, creators, and small-business owners use it when a single photo or graphic has to become an Instagram square, a 9:16 story or reel, a 16:9 YouTube thumbnail, an X (Twitter) post image, a LinkedIn banner, a Facebook cover, and a 1200×630 Open Graph preview. Tick the platform presets you need in Settings, pick which one is shown in the large preview from the Active preset dropdown, choose PNG, JPEG, or WebP output and a Cover or Contain fit, then download each size individually or grab them all at once. Because the canvas does cover-crop scaling, faces and focal points stay centered and nothing gets squashed.
How to use Social Media Image Resizer
- Drag and drop an image onto the dropzone, or click it to pick a PNG, JPEG, or WebP from your device.
- Open Settings and check the platform presets you want, such as Instagram Post, Story/Reel, YouTube Thumbnail, X Post, LinkedIn Banner, Facebook Cover, or Open Graph.
- Choose an output format (PNG, JPEG, or WebP) and a fit mode — Cover crops to fill the frame, Contain fits the whole image with padding.
- Use the Active preset dropdown to choose which size appears in the large before/after preview (click either image to zoom).
- Click the Download button on any result row to save that single size, or use Download all to save every checked preset at once.
Examples
One photo into a full Instagram set
Drop a 4000×3000 landscape photo, check Instagram Post (1080×1080) and Story/Reel (1080×1920), keep Cover fit, then Download all to get a centered square and a vertical 9:16 crop with no stretching.
Make a YouTube thumbnail and an OG card from artwork
Load a wide hero image, check YouTube Thumbnail (1280×720) and Open Graph (1200×630), pick JPEG output, and download both — ready to attach to a video and a shared link.
Fit a logo without cropping
Switch fit to Contain and check LinkedIn Banner (1584×396); the full logo is centered on the wide banner with transparent (PNG) or white (JPEG) padding instead of being cropped.
Frequently asked questions
- Which platform sizes does it support?
- Presets include Instagram Post (1080×1080), Instagram Story/Reel (1080×1920), YouTube Thumbnail (1280×720), X/Twitter Post (1600×900), LinkedIn Banner (1584×396), Facebook Cover (820×312), and Open Graph (1200×630). Tick any combination in Settings and export them together.
- What is the difference between Cover and Contain fit?
- Cover scales the image to fill the entire target frame and crops the overflow from the edges, keeping the center in view with no empty space. Contain scales the whole image to fit inside the frame and adds padding (transparent for PNG/WebP, white for JPEG) so nothing is cropped.
- Which output formats can I export?
- You can export each size as PNG (lossless, supports transparency), JPEG (smaller files, white background where padded), or WebP (modern, small, supports transparency). Pick the format once and it applies to every preset you download.
- Will the resized images lose quality?
- Resizing uses high-quality canvas smoothing, and JPEG/WebP are saved at high quality. Downscaling a large photo keeps detail well; enlarging a small image beyond its original pixels can look soft, since no new detail can be invented.
- Are my images uploaded to a server?
- No. The entire resize and crop happens locally in your browser using the HTML canvas. Your image is never sent to deftdeck or any server, and nothing leaves your device.
